Three stages of sensor development

Sensor technology plays a very important role in the development of the whole Internet of things industry. China began to set foot in the sensor manufacturing industry as early as the 1960s. After years of development, it can be divided into three generations:

The first generation: it is a structural sensor, which uses the change of structural parameters to sense and transform signals.

The second generation: the sensor is a solid-state sensor developed in the 1970s. This sensor is composed of solid components such as semiconductors, dielectrics and magnetic materials. It is made of some characteristics of materials.

The third generation: sensor is an intelligent sensor just developed in the 1980s. The so-called intelligent sensor means that it has certain detection, self diagnosis, data processing and adaptive ability to external information. It has the characteristics of high precision, low cost, diversified functions and strong automation. It is the product of the combination of microcomputer technology and detection technology.

Intelligent sensor is a multi-element integrated circuit with the functions of information acquisition, information processing, information exchange and information storage. It is a system level product integrating sensor chip, communication chip, microprocessor, driver and software algorithm.

In the era of intelligent perception of the Internet of things, intelligent sensors are one of the key technologies to realize the Internet of things. Sensors in many Internet of things scenarios have the characteristics of intelligent sensors. They will play a great role in industry, agriculture, medical treatment, transportation and other fields. In the future sensor market, the proportion of intelligent sensors will be larger and larger.
